For more than a century, Shaw Farm has been dedicated to producing the freshest, highest-quality dairy products for families in the Merrimack Valley. As a fourth-generation family farm, we take pride in preserving our heritage while adapting to the changing needs of our customers and the environment. Our mission is to ensure that every bottle of milk and every scoop of ice cream that leaves our farm is something you can serve with confidence.
The pursuit of quality begins in the fields. Instead of relying on outside sources, we grow nearly all of our cows’ feed ourselves, maintaining over 150 acres of nutrient-rich grasses for hay and pasture, along with additional acreage for corn silage. By managing every step of the growing process—fertilizing with natural manure, planting carefully, and harvesting only at peak nutrition—we can guarantee that our herd receives only the best. Balanced diets, crafted with the guidance of professional nutritionists, keep our cows healthy and productive, ensuring milk that is consistently fresh and flavorful.
Animal care is at the heart of our operation. From calving to breeding, the herd is managed with hands-on dedication and constant attention. Each cow is treated with respect and care, creating a cycle of health and productivity that sustains our farm year after year. This commitment not only protects the well-being of the animals but directly impacts the taste and nutritional value of the milk they provide.
Once milk leaves the barn, it travels only a short distance to our on-site bottling plant. There, the process is overseen with strict attention to cleanliness and food safety. Bottling on-site allows us to maintain complete control over quality, temperature, and handling from start to finish. Because we refuse to outsource these steps, we know exactly what goes into every bottle that carries our name.
From there, our products take one of three routes: directly to the shelves of our farm store, onto our trucks for wholesale deliveries to local partners, or to the doorsteps of customers through our home delivery service. Every delivery is handled with care to preserve freshness, and every interaction reflects the personal connection we maintain with the community.
Our commitment extends beyond milk. Shaw Farm ice cream is made right at the farm, using the same fresh milk and cream. With more than 75 flavors, each batch is crafted for richness and quality, and often reaches store shelves within hours of production. Whether enjoyed at our retail store, ice cream stand, or at home, our ice cream reflects the same promise of freshness and care that defines all our products.
